Fund your mobility
Please note that gap years are not eligible for supervised exchange programmes or for mobility scholarships (except the gap year as part of the Science Po double diploma).
As a student of a higher education institution dependent on the Ministry of Culture, you can apply, on your own and without going through the school's services, for scholarships common to all students in France, or through the school for scholarships specific to the school.
Apply through the school's services
Complete the scholarship application form (available on the Extranet. Go to School life > financial aid) and upload the requested documents.
- Before going abroad, complete the mobility kit which will be sent to you by the International Relations department.
- Once abroad, send your arrival certificate.
- When you return from your stay: send your return certificate.
- You will also need to complete the report requested from any person participating in the Erasmus+ programme, whether or not you are a recipient of a mobility grant.
List of scholarships
The Fondation Malatier-Jacquet is an Ecole du Louvre sponsor and each year offers scholarships allowing selected students to finance a study and research stay or an internship abroad.

Since 2003, the Ecole du Louvre has received support from the French Heritage Society (FHS), an American organisation contributing to the preservation of architectural heritage in France as well as French-inspired architectural heritage in the United States. Every summer, students from the school can carry out internships in American institutions and benefit from funding from the French Heritage Society.

As part of a partnership between the Ecole du Louvre and Wellesley College, each year, a Master 2 student has the opportunity to complete an internship at the Davis Museum and take courses at Wellesley College. This is covered by a scholarship.

In 2019, the Fondation Antoine de Galbert became an Ecole du Louvre sponsor and awarded scholarships to third-cycle (doctoral) students at the school. One of them is dedicated to international mobility required by the thesis.

The Franco-German University allocates each year a scholarship of 350 euros per month (over 10 months) for each student registered in the International Master History of Art and Museology / EDL- Universität Heidelberg, for the year they stay in the partner country.

The Erasmus+ studies scholarship is for students studying at a university partnered with the Ecole du Louvre, as part of the Erasmus+ programme.
Eligibility criteria
Students must be selected for an international stay as part of the Erasmus+ studies programme and stay in the selected location for a duration greater than or equal to 2 months (60 days).
2023-2024 funds and duration
- Group 1 (Denmark, Finland, Ireland, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Norway, Sweden, United Kingdom): monthly package of €400
- Group 2 (Germany, Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Spain, Greece, Italy, Malta, Netherlands, Portugal): monthly package of €350
- Group 3 (Bulgaria, Croatia, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, North Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Czech Republic, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey): monthly package of €300
Note: Erasmus+ mobility scholarships are not automatically granted to everyone and even more so for the United Kingdom where funds are limited. The scholarships are awarded within the limit of the credits allocated by the National Erasmus+ Agency to the Ecole du Louvre.
Application, scholarship payment and obligations
- The international relations department will contact you to complete the scholarship application form.
- Once the documents have been submitted via the form and the scholarship has been paid (nearly 6 weeks after the start of your stay for 80% of the total amount), you will need to complete the “participant report” for the Erasmus+ programme which will trigger the release of the remaining 20%.
- If you do not respect your obligations under the Erasmus+ programme (see Erasmus Student Charter), you will have to repay the entire scholarship awarded to you.

The Erasmus+ internship scholarship is available to students carrying out an internship of at least 2 months in a country in the European Erasmus+ area.
Eligibility criteria
Students must complete an internship lasting 2 months or more (60 days) in Europe and validating ECTS credits.
2023-2024 funds and duration
- Group 1 (Denmark, Finland, Ireland, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Norway, Sweden, United Kingdom): €550 per month
- Group 2 (Germany, Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Spain, Greece, Italy, Malta, Netherlands, Portugal): €500 per month
- Group 3 (Bulgaria, Croatia, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, North Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Czech Republic, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey): €450 per month

As part of a national inclusion policy, several criteria specified in the Erasmus+ circular published in the Official Bulletin of National Education (No. 16 of April 22, 2021) identify specific audiences for which the Erasmus+ France Agency will trigger “support for inclusion”. For the higher education sector, support for inclusion takes the form of an additional monthly amount of €250 from the Erasmus+ scholarship in order to encourage public participation. Meeting one of these criteria entitles you to the supplement.
