The Ecole du Louvre teaches courses in the history of art, archaeology, epigraphy, anthropology and museology. It offers students a cursus comprising three cycles with the award of a diploma, and a preparatory class for the competitive entry procedure for heritage curators.

Entry to year 1 of the first cycle, open to holders of the French baccalauréat or another acceptable qualification, is subject to an entry test.

The teaching staff are mainly museum curators and heritage professionals.

  "research route" (history of art, museology),
  "vocational route" (art market, mediation, heritage professions).
